Part 1 – Tribus Baceolus
The group met Joby Flint, a traveling merchant, and Nahia of Arvit, his bodyguard, and Glen purchased some delicious ales from the Wychwood Brewery and shared them with his friends. Dodge began a romance with the beautiful Nahia.
Magna and Kyran battled some mangy dogs, and discovered a dagger named “Brightflame”. In the Darford taproom, a stranger named Mauritius demanded the dagger. He and his companions, Larz and Crispus, started a fight with Magna and Kyran, which evolved into a complete bar brawl. Wisslow broke up the fight and confiscated the dagger. The dagger was stolen during the night. The next morning, the young heroes helped Ulfrid and Wisslow detect the culprit – a Halfling sorcerer and his owl familiar.
A day later, the group discovered that Mauritius and his companions had disappeared from Darford. Ulfrid had given Brightflame over to Mauritius, with the agreement he would leave Darford immediately and never return.
Part 2 – Quest of the Sunken Citadel
The group was approached by a beautiful young girl who was seeking Glenlivet. She introduced herself as Arragwyn, his cousin. She asked them to help find her missing brothers – Arrioch and Arrafel – who went on a journey to the Sunken Citadel and had yet to return. The brothers were accompanied by Tribus Baceolus – the trio of mercenaries the group had recently encountered in a bar brawl. The group agreed to the mission, though Glen was extremely reluctant.
They packed for travel and began their journey at first light. Just outside of Darford they met three other villagers at the crossroads: Arragwyn the Fair, astride her white horse; plus Breena and Sidric, along with their pony. They all insisted on joining the quest – both parties offering supplies and a pack horse. There was considerable argument and debate over the additions, but they eventually all agreed to travel together.
At dawn on the second day, the group became enticed by the sweet, mesmerizing sounds of a piper. They followed the sounds into a secluded vale and encountered an awe inspiring satyr. He introduced himself as Tinnfang Warbel. He acted as if he knew Yriadel, Dodge, Glenlivet and Kyran, but they did not know him. Tinnfang explained that on the day Yriadel was born, he had been tasked to protect her, and multiple times retrieved her from wandering lost in the forest. He also revealed that her grandmother Gyldenfeax had returned to the forest years ago to live with her foster father – Feligan Finch the Gnome. Yriadel was shocked to learn that her grandmother was still alive. Finally, Tinnfang asked the group a favor – that if they see his close friend Grimble Gromble in the forest, to lead him safely back to Darford.
