Dodge and Kyran, both champions of May Day Contests, participated in the procession through Ullester. Kyran escorted Raena Araganing and Dodge escorted Sabine Bennsdottir. During the procession, Kyran had an interesting dialog with Raena about Araganus, First Eorl of Ullester, and the history of the town, along with a few other personal details. The procession began in Duntun’s Middel Market and ended in Upptun’s Hoftorg. In the Hoftorg, Eorl Aragnar announced the winners of the contests and awarded Dodge and Kyran with their prize drinking horns. Pace Dubhans announced Raena as the May Queen and presented her with the Kirell Corona. Hjugo Sihm rang a large bronze bell to quiet the crowd and thus formally begin the Maegenhof Hallowing.
After the bell rang, the Hoftorg erupted in chaos as dozens of goblins attacked. Aiden, Dodge, Glen, Kyran, Lee and Magna were all instrumental in repelling the invasion. First, they quelled the initial assault within the Hoftorg, then they squelched an attempt to burn down some buildings and they killed a goblin warchanter that had been encouraging the goblins. Lastly, they rescued Alden Foxfur, a thane from Kantor, from getting killed by a goblin commando which was mounted on a goblin dog.
In the aftermath, the young group from Darford were quickly accepted as heroes in Ullester. Glenlivet visited the Hwychwood Brewery and discussed brewing with Gaerwulf. The group visited Alden Foxfur at the Drunken Dragon and accepted his invitation to go on a boar hunt. That evening they dined on the boar, prepared by Anika-Shae, who liked their company so much she offered them free room and board at the Drunken Dragon.
Dodge was implored by Lissa vanDetta to exterminate some giant rats, and he assented. However, upon arrival at her basement, she revealed that her true need was for a lover. Once again Dodge consented, but unfortunately he was discovered “in flagrante delicto” by her father Andor, and Dodge was unable to alleviate the tension before making a hasty exit.
The group aided Hilda Blæcstánas by killing a rogue goblin that was inside her house, although they were too late to save her husband Alergast who had already been murdered and partially eaten.
Next, the seven were implored to give audience to Siden Mildthreth, the town’s oracle. The ancient, blind woman cast her runes and proclaimed prophecies from the gods. She also revealed secrets about their present identities and past histories. She was attended by thralls Aestrid and Caridwén, and guarded by Grúmi Halftroll.
Finally, at the request of Forwost Baelor, the group gave attendance to Eorl Aragnar at his Meadhall. Aragnar thanked them for their heroic efforts during the goblin attack. Pace Dubhans, Forwost Baelor and Siden Mildthreth were each called upon, and all vouched for the legitimacy and sincerity of the seven from Darford. They discussed goblin fighting techniques and possible motives behind the recent invasion. Magna viewed tapestries decorating the meadhall and identified the historical figures of Araganus, Meda Kwa and Geldron.
